Nuance rolls out new eScription release

Speech recognition firm Nuance Communications has released version 9 of its eScription computer-aided medical transcription platform.

The new release features enhancements to eScription's dictation, background speech recognition, editing and transcription, document distribution, and electronic signature components, according to the Burlington, MA-based company.

New features include an ability to perform quality review directly within the eScription platform; more ways to save, search, retrieve, and compare documents; new configuration and management wizards; the ability to use a PC microphone for dictation; and improvements in its background speech recognition and natural language processing engines, Nuance said.
