MMP names new CTO

Billing and practice management services provider Medical Management Professionals (MMP) of Kennesaw, GA, has hired Joe Degati as its new chief technology officer (CTO).

Degati most recently served as chief information officer for clinical documentation technology firm Spheris of Franklin, TN.

He will direct, coordinate, and support technology functions within the company, and will lead MMP's IT operations for its 3,000-plus hospital-based physicians and more than 80 facilities nationwide. Degati will also negotiate contracts with third-party technology providers and maintain customer data security by joining the company’s HIPAA Security Committee for risk assessment and remediation, according to MMP.
