ALI reports strong Q1 financials

Canadian PACS developer ALI Technologies reported record sales and earnings in its first fiscal quarter (end-December 31), the Richmond, BC, company reported yesterday.

For the quarter, ALI posted sales of $9.8 million (U.S.), up 79% compared with sales of $5.5 million in the first quarter of 2001. The company notched a profit of $2.2 million, compared with a net loss of $428,000 in the corresponding quarter a year ago.

The company said it started a program to expand its sales force by 50% during the quarter, and began expanding its production capacity by 100%. The company also added a net total of 28 new employees during the period, expanding its work force by 14%.

ALI projects that 2002 annual revenues will be over $43 million, and earnings per share will be at least 87¢, compared with EPS of 21¢ for the current quarter.
