Siemens installs first Verio MRI scanner in Texas

Multimodality vendor Siemens Healthcare has installed its first Magnetom Verio 3-tesla MRI scanner in Texas.

The system was installed at Memorial Hermann Imaging Center in Houston, which will use the new scanner for all MRI patients, with applications including neurology, orthopedics, breast, vascular, and cardiac imaging.

Verio's 2-ft-wide, 4-ft-long bore affords more space for patients to diminish their anxiety or claustrophobic effects, according to the Malvern, PA-based company.
