BrainLab unveils neuro package

Image-guided therapy firm BrainLab of Munich, Germany, has launched iPlan Neuroradiology, an image processing tool for diagnosis and planning that combines image fusion of different modalities and segmentation algorithms for brain anatomy functionality.

In addition, iPlan includes functional data analysis with fMRI and diffusion tensor imaging algorithms, which helps clinicians such as neurosurgeons during intraoperative image-guided procedures or radiation oncologists plan radiation dose and delivery.

BrainLab's iPlan Net allows physicians to access the diagnostic information from anywhere inside or outside the hospital, the company said.
