MedQuist Q1 revenue drops

Lower medical transcription revenue cut into MedQuist's first-quarter financial figures.

For the period (end-March 31), the Mount Laurel, NJ-based speech recognition and transcription technology provider posted net revenue of $78.9 million, a decline of 6% from $83.7 million in the first quarter of 2008. Net income was $6.9 million, compared with a net loss of $4.4 million in the same quarter a year ago.
