Internet-based medical coding technology and services provider CodeRyte of Bethesda, MD, will demonstrate its new vascular interventional radiology coding application at this year's RSNA show.

CodeRyte's enhanced radiology coding platform uses language-based statistical Web technologies and natural language processing (NLP) technology to automatically code free-form physician dictations.

The vascular interventional radiology (VIR) coding tool features integrated anatomy tools with VIR coding and provides blind quality assurance reports to eliminate coder bias. Its reporting capabilities include problem coding patterns, reimbursable but uncoded procedures, coding engine quality, and evaluation and management (E/M) coding patterns for physicians and across practices.

The VIR application provides a fully HIPAA-compliant audit trail and can interoperate with an electronic medical record (EMR), according to CodeRyte.

The company said that the tool is currently available in the U.S. and is targeted to interventional radiology practices.
