(Booth 4076) Medicsight of London will spotlight its ColonCAD software, which is shipping internationally, for analysis of virtual colonoscopy images.

2008 10 27 13 14 52 683 Medicsight Cad 2008While the software will be shown at RSNA as a work-in-progress, Medicsight has received several recent regulatory approvals and is marketing ColonCAD in Europe, Canada, Australia, China, and Brazil. The company anticipates receiving U.S. Food and Drug Administration approval in the first half of 2009.

Medicsight will make the software available through its marketing partners, which include Vital Images, Viatronix, TeraRecon, Barco, 3mensio Medical Imaging, and Infinitt. The firms have integrated ColonCAD into their own advanced visualization applications.

The company believes that recent positive clinical results for virtual colonoscopy will help drive adoption of virtual colonoscopy as a screening tool for colon cancer, which in turn will spur interest in ColonCAD.
