Philips, ISRRT target dose reduction

Philips Healthcare and the International Society of Radiographers and Radiological Technologists (ISRRT) are launching a radiation dose exposure awareness initiative.

The program -- called Are you DoseWise? -- aims to raise awareness of the role that radiographers and radiological technologists around the world play in managing radiation dose exposure, according to Andover, MA-based Philips and the ISRRT. It will culminate in the awarding of the first annual ISRRT DoseWise Radiographer of the Year at this month's annual RSNA meeting in Chicago.

The campaign features a Website that brings together learning material, peer-to-peer discussion opportunities, and global references, Philips and the ISRRT said.
