Amicas highlights Vision Series products at RSNA

Radiology image and information systems firm Amicas is showcasing its Vision Series products at the RSNA show in Chicago.

The Boston-based company is featuring Vision Series RIS, a Web-based package designed for ambulatory imaging centers; Vision Series Financials for managing the imaging business revenue cycle; and Vision Series Document Management for paperless clinical, administrative, and billing functions in a radiology office.

Amicas also debuted Vision Reach, a new software system based on the Vision Series PACS platform that integrates radiology reports from a RIS with images from a PACS, creating a single report that can be delivered via e-mail to other workstations. Amicas expects Vision Reach to be available in the first half of 2006.

New PACS applications on display in the company's booth include Amicas Imaging Dashboard, a real-time, customizable, digital dashboard embedded in the Vision Series PACS that offers complete visualization of all patients, images, and key metrics of an imaging facility's operations; Amicas RealTime Worklist, which uses Imaging Dashboard with the Amicas Lightbeam workstation; Amicas Vision Watch, a monitoring tool that allows users to study staff productivity trends, workflow bottlenecks, and evaluate when system performance is at risk and storage space.

Amicas has also launched a new product suite for smaller imaging facilities called Amicas Office Solutions. The package is available in two configurations, Express and Complete, and is based on the Vision Series RIS and PACS products. Amicas Office Solutions helps users simplify the conversion process from analog workflow and film-based imaging to an automated digital environment, according to the company. The system includes scheduling, registration, patient tracking, DICOM Modality Worklist and image acquisition, Web-based radiologist interpretation with 3D toolset, reporting, and DICOM image archive.
