Merge Healthcare will demonstrate its Fusion RIS MX application and Fusion RIS/PACS MX, an integrated product offering.

2006 11 06 17 23 38 706The company's Merge eMed division is introducing Fusion RIS/PACS MX as a work-in-progress. The product unifies RIS, PACS, dictation, document management, billing, and practice analysis workflow, as well as provides Web-enabled distribution of clinical and business information. It also features radiologist workflow tools, such as embedded dictation, interrupt sessions, instant messaging, and hanging protocols, according to the Milwaukee-based firm.

A commercial release date for the product has not yet been set, the company said.

Fusion RIS MX includes worklist management, group practice deployment, integration capabilities, security, and practice analysis features. Other capabilities include a Web-based Fusion Referring Practice Portal that allows for the real-time access to patient reports, images, history, and exam status. The company has also added a new call-center scheduler module and a real-time analytics dashboard tool.

Embedded digital dictation and document management modules are available as is the firm's proprietary integrated billing system, called elligence. A mammography module and integrated practice analysis management toolset round out the Fusion RIS MX feature set.

Fusion RIS MX is available now and is targeted for the imaging center, specialty clinic, and small- to medium-size community hospital market.
