Look for digital radiography developer Swissray International of Elizabeth, NJ, to demonstrate an automatic positioning upgrade for its DR systems, a DR system optimized for orthopedic applications, and a new proactive remote monitoring service.

2006 10 27 15 23 03 706Swissray's APS (automated positioning system) automates positioning and image acquisition requirements, and enables patient data to be transferred directly from the RIS/HIS via DICOM work list. With a remote control and memory function, the system can be moved quickly and precisely into the desired application, according to the company, with fully diagnostic images appearing in seconds on the company's SwissVision workstation.

ALLinONE Stand is designed for DR orthopedic applications, such as scoliosis and long-leg studies, as well as weight-bearing examinations. Data such as weight and height are automatically collected and transmitted wirelessly to the system's generator, which the system's eXpert 5000 computer calculates the perfect x-ray exam technique for that particular patient's physique.

Swissray will also highlight its AutoStitching feature, which enables users to combine up to four images at the touch of a button for faster and more precise orthopedic studies, including long bones and complete spines.

Finally, Swissray is launching a proactive remote monitoring service that supports monitoring, diagnostics, proactive and reactive alarms, remote desktop control, software configuration management, and analytics on a real-time, 24/7 basis. The service is integrated into the company's DR systems, Swissray said.
