Ziehm Imaging was founded in Nuremberg, Germany, in 1972 and specializes in the development, production, and global marketing of mobile x-ray-based imaging solutions (C-arms). The medical technology company, with its headquarters in Nuremberg, has international offices in Italy, France, Finland, Austria, Spain, the U.S., Brazil, Singapore, China, and Japan and is supported by a network of global distribution partners.

Ziehm Imaging consistently focuses on intraoperative imaging and innovative x-ray technologies through high investment in research and development. X-ray-based imaging at the highest stage

In 2006, Ziehm Imaging launched the first fully digital, mobile C-arm in the world -- with a flat-panel detector that provides distortion-free, high-contrast, and highly dynamic images with four times more shades of gray compared with analog image intensifiers. Today, more than 10 years later, Ziehm Imaging has enhanced the proven flat panel with complementary metal-oxide semiconductor (CMOS), the latest detector technology for excellent image quality.

Further, Advanced Active Cooling technology ensures significantly longer fluoroscopy time with higher image quality during lengthy surgery and prevents overheating of the generator. The open interface Ziehm NaviPort allows a flexible integration of navigation systems by various manufacturers and enables the user to be up to date at any time.

Clinical applications

Mobile x-ray-based imaging solutions from Ziehm Imaging are used in spine surgery, orthopedics, traumatology, vascular surgery, and further clinical applications. The digital C-arms are also used in interventional radiology and cardiology, and cardiac surgery. Physicians who perform complex surgical interventions have the prospect of a mobile imaging solution with the capabilities and features demanded by a fixed installed unit, with the added advantages of no installation costs and the flexibility of a mobile C-arm.
