One in three women delayed their mammograms due to COVID-19, and 45% are nervous about visiting their doctor for the same reason, according to a new survey by cancer information media company SurvivorNet.

The company surveyed 535 women to ask them questions about breast health, and the results show the pandemic has negatively impacted breast care. In addition to delaying mammograms and feeling nervous about doctor visits, 29% said in general their breast health has become a lower priority since the beginning of the outbreak.

However, even for women who are not neglecting their breast health, 28% experienced "moderate to severe" anxiety when receiving their mammogram, fearing exposure to COVID-19.
