Kopp expands MRI offerings with Mednovus acquisition

Ferromagnetic detector developer Kopp Development has acquired MRI accessories developer Mednovus.

The acquisition enables Kopp to expand its MRI safety product line to include handheld ferromagnetic detectors made by Mednovus, such as the FerrAlert Target Scanner product line. Mednovus has over 2,000 detectors in use in the field.

In addition to FerrAlert, Kopp has acquired eight patents for MRI safety products and stands as the leading supplier of ferromagnetic detection systems, according to the companies. Kopp now has 23 U.S. and international patents covering MRI safety.
