Medtronic, Viz.ai team up on stroke care

Device manufacturer Medtronic has partnered with artificial intelligence (AI) software developer Viz.ai on promoting the adoption of automated stroke detection and notification technology.

Medtronic said it has agreed to distribute Viz.ai's stroke detection and triage software to stroke centers throughout the U.S. The software uses AI to identify strokes caused by a large-vessel occlusion on CT scans and then alert providers within minutes by sending medical images directly to their smartphones.
