NEMA revises manual for gauging SPECT performance

The National Electrical Manufacturers Association (NEMA) has released an updated version of its manual for measuring and reporting the performance parameters of SPECT scanners.

"NEMA NU 1-2018 Performance Measurements of SPECT" includes the following updates in response to recent developments in SPECT scanner technology:

  • A new measurement for characterizing pixelated detectors
  • Revised image quality metrics that account for iterative reconstruction
  • Improved coregistration accuracy for the SPECT and CT components of hybrid SPECT/CT scanners

The document is currently available for purchase for $144 as a print copy or an electronic download.
