Double Black plans new releases for SIIM 2019

Monitor distributor Double Black Imaging (DBI) and its Image Systems division will be unveiling new clinical and diagnostic displays at next week's annual meeting of the Society for Imaging Informatics in Medicine (SIIM) in Denver.

The company's new CL8MPS clinical display is a 27-inch, 8-megapixel (MP) LED-backlit display with a peak luminance of 350 cd/m2, a contrast ratio of 1000:1, and a front sensor for auto-DICOM calibration. It's designed for use in clinical review areas, for modality imaging, or as a PACS worklist display, DBI said.

DBI is also unwrapping its next-generation N series and Gemini Series LED-backlit diagnostic displays. The new lines include 3-, 4-, 5.2-, 6-, and 8.8-MP displays; the 5.2- and 8.8-MP versions also are cleared for use in breast imaging, including digital breast tomosynthesis, according to the vendor.

The new diagnostic displays have been upgraded with higher luminance and contrast ratios, better viewing capability for multimodality images, and integrated hybrid gamma correction, the firm said. They also include built-in front sensors for automatic DICOM calibration, backlight sensors, ambient light sensors, and the company's CFS calibration software suite.
