Ezra launches full-body MRI screening

Cancer screening startup Ezra has launched a direct-to-consumer full-body MRI scanning program in the New York City area.

On May 23, Ezra announced that it would begin offering consumers full-body MRI scans designed to detect up to 11 cancers in men and 13 cancers in women. Touting its scans as "fast, accurate, and affordable," the company charges $1,950 for a full-body scan; customers can either pay in full or in 12 no-interest installments.

The firm offers the scans at eight facilities in New York City and New Jersey, and it plans to expand to additional U.S. cities by the end of 2019.

The company began offering prostate cancer screening in January 2019 and says it has performed scans on hundreds of men since then.

The company is also developing artificial intelligence (AI) software, Ezra AI, which it plans to begin using to analyze scans.
