Tissue expander developer AirXpanders announced that it has retained a financial services firm to explore "financial and strategic alternatives" for the San Jose company.
AirXpanders said it has retained Cowen, a New York City firm, to "evaluate opportunities to explore a wide range of financial and strategic alternatives." Such alternatives could include raising a round of capital funding.
AirXpanders has developed the AeroForm tissue expander system, which patients use when undergoing two-stage breast reconstruction following mastectomy.
