RANZCR praises government pledge to support MRI access

The Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Radiologists (RANZCR) is lauding opposition leader Bill Shorten's announcement that if elected, the country's Labor Party will increase access to MRI for cancer patients as part of its $2.3 billion Australian ($1.6 billion U.S.) Medicare cancer plan.

The deal would allow patients more options for nearby MRI services, and it would apply $433 million Australian ($307.9 million) toward specialist consultations with cancer physicians, including radiation oncologists, RANZCR said.
