CIVCO unveils new products at RSNA

Ultrasound and radiotherapy products developer CIVCO Medical Solutions of Kalona, IA, is introducing its long transducer covers and disposable needle guidance system this year at the RSNA meeting in Chicago.

The Super-Extended Length CIV-Flex Transducer covers are now available in a 96-inch (244 cm) version designed to extend the sterile field from the array of the transducer to the transducer connection. These covers fold telescopically to facilitate insertion of gel and application of the cover onto the transducer and cable.

CIVCO is also launching the Ultra-Pro e disposable needle guidance system. The system features an open-channel needle guide designed to assist in the initial orientation of the tracked needle to the electromagnetic field. Compatible with the eTrax electromagnetic needle tracking system and all Ultra-Pro style brackets, Ultra-Pro e is designed to increase the productivity of ultrasound-guided procedures, including tissue biopsy, fluid aspirations, and catheter placement. The system consists of a custom reusable bracket and a disposable snap-on guide. The guide attaches to the custom reusable bracket and accepts 14-, 16-, 18-, and 20-gauge instruments. Sterile replacement kits include guide, transducer cover, gel packet, and colored elastic bands.

In addition to these new products, CIVCO announced a new comarketing partnership with UltraLinq Healthcare Solutions of New York City. UltraLinq provides a secure Web-based system for all aspects of image management for ultrasound and other medical imaging modalities.
