Barco launches high-speed display controllers

Image display firm Barco of Kortrijk, Belgium, unveiled a new line of display controllers for medical imaging at RSNA 2010 in Chicago.

The MXRT-2400, MXRT-5400, and MXRT-7400 boards are designed to deliver triple-head capabilities and improved performance when handling large datasets. All three boards are built with ATI FirePro 3D technology and are compatible with the new DisplayPort interface standard, to facilitate installation and provide fast and reliable data transfers.

The midrange MXRT-5400 and high-end MXRT-7400 can drive three displays with one PCIe slot, designed to save space on the PC, simplify installation, and reduce power consumption. The MXRT-7400 is fitted with 2 GB of memory and an ultrafast graphics processing unit.

The compact MXRT-2400 is designed for setups where a low-profile workstation is needed for space efficiency. The energy-friendly board can drive two 5-MP displays at full refresh rates, according to Barco.

All the MXRT-x400 display controllers have been tested and optimized to work with Barco's Nio and Coronis displays, and are designed to meet compatibility needs for common medical applications. The boards support DirectX (version 11.0) and OpenGL (version 4.0), and are compatible with the Microsoft Windows 7 operating system.
