Brit adds to UrgentCall

RIS/PACS vendor Brit Systems has added a new general emergency contacting module to its UrgentCall critical results test management system and is introducing it at this week's RSNA meeting in Chicago. The module allows authorized users to type general messages for delivery to users as per their emergency contacting rules, according to the Dallas-based company.

With the new tool, users can type in a message, select groups of users for delivery, and specify delivery time periods, number of attempts, and if acknowledgements are required. Monitoring tools also allow users to see the results of the messaging.

Users can set up multiple contact options and designate someone to receive their messages as a backup. Messaging capabilities are available via phone, iPad, text, e-mail, paging, and fax. Users who access the server via a browser for other clinical purposes, such as viewing images and reports, can also view and acknowledge emergency messages directly on the browser, according to Brit.
