AFC to launch new reading station

Medical furniture developer AFC Industries of College Point, NY, will introduce the Floor Post series, a space-saving approach to reading station design, at the 2010 RSNA conference.

Floor Post aims to make the most of limited space by accommodating up to several users simultaneously. The reading station is designed around a central metal column and base with secure mounting tracks on two sides for monitors, keyboards, and central processing units (CPUs). Configurations are flexible, giving the user the opportunity to create up to four workstations on a single position.

The Floor Post can be installed in many locations including crowded treatment rooms and hallways, according to the company. A 16 x 16-inch base is fixed in a stationary position. Height-adjustable attachments can be made along the column's vertical tracks. Optional accessories aid cable management, storage, and lighting.
