The Division of Abdominal Imaging at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center (UPMC) in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania has 1-year, non-ACGME, fellowship openings starting July 2024. This is a comprehensive training opportunity combining an excellent case mix of state-of-the-art diagnostic cross-sectional imaging in all aspects of abdominal and pelvic diseases with a focus on MRI and interventional radiology. Trainees will be exposed to a high volume of complex abdominal and pelvic MRI, CT and US and gain competency in percutaneous biopsies and drainages. An elective in vascular interventional radiology includes exposure to TACE and basic angiography technique. The applicant must be eligible to obtain an unrestricted Pennsylvania medical license, DEA, be a US citizen or have appropriate visas and have completed an ACGME accredited radiology residency.  

 

Training takes place at the academic hub in the heart of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania where the Abdominal Radiology division performs over 200,000 imaging and diagnostic procedures a year, and specializes in a large array of clinical areas including oncology, trauma, organ transplantation and hepatic and pancreaticobiliary and genitourinary diseases. The division performs a high volume of ultrasound and CT guided biopsies and drainages, solid organ biopsies, cryoablation. Fellows get personalized teaching during readouts and enjoy dedicated conference series focused on key abdominal and pelvic MRI pathology, transplant and bowel imaging and participate in tumor boards.  Teaching opportunities and academic time will be provided.
