The UC Davis School of Medicine, Department of Radiology is currently seeking qualified candidates for three full-time Cardiothoracic Imaging faculty member in the Professor of Clinical "X" Series or Health Sciences Clinical Professor Series, at the Assistant, Associate, and Full Professor rank (commensurate with experience and credentials).
Criteria for the Professor of Clinical "X" Series: The incumbent will be expected to conduct substantial research; provide patient care; teach fellows, residents, and medical students; and perform public and University service. Excellent teaching is essential criteria for appointment in this series.
Criteria for the Health Sciences Clinical Professor Series: The incumbent will be expected to teach fellows, residents, and medical students; provide patient care; contribute to scholarly activities; and provide public and University service.
Candidates must possess an M.D., D.O., or equivalent degree and be licensed or be eligible for full licensure in the State of California. At the time of start, the candidate will need to be fellowship trained in Cardiothoracic, Cardiovascular, or Oncology Imaging and be board-certified or board-eligible in Diagnostic Radiology. It is preferred that they have a documented interest in research and teaching with excellent track record in scholarly activities as well as expertise and interest in different aspects of cardiovascular, thoracic oncology, and chest imaging.
The candidates will be involved in cardiothoracic imaging studies including chest radiography, computed tomography, and magnetic resonance imaging. The candidates will be expected to participate in multidisciplinary meetings with cardio-pulmonary medicine, infectious disease, and pediatric cardiology and cardiothoracic surgery. Participation in weekend calls in rotation with other cardiothoracic division members is expected. The department has state–of- the- art equipment including clinical 3T and 1.5T MRI scanners and the EXPLORER Total Body PET Scanner, the first scanner of its kind in the United States, designed to be the world's highest sensitivity PET scanner.
