UTMB was established in 1891 as the first academic health center in Texas and is a component of the University of Texas System. Today UTMB includes four schools (medicine, nursing, health professions and graduate biomedical sciences), a network of hospitals and clinics that provide a full range of primary and specialized medical care, and numerous research facilities.

 

Faculty Neuroradiologist - The UTMB Department of Radiology seeks full time radiologists with experience in Neuroimaging and interventions including CT, MRI, diagnostic ultrasound (US), biopsies, ESI and lumbar punctures. The Neuroradiology department is fully outfitted with 1.5 and 3.0T MRI’s, multidetector CT’s and biplane imaging suites.  We have a comprehensive stroke center designation on Galveston with a second planned for the Clear Lake hospital. Additionally, UTMB Neuroradiology collaborates with the University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center for medical oncology and radiation oncology services.  UTMB has accredited residency programs in Diagnostic and Interventional Radiology and trains two neuroimaging fellows every year. Our neuroradiologists periodically work and cover call from home PACS units.

 

Candidate Requirements:

 

  • M.D., D.O., or equivalent degree.
  • Board Certification/Eligibility by the American Board of Radiology.   
  • The ability to obtain an unrestricted state of Texas Medical License.

 

Income Package:  A merit-based hiring incentive is available for new recruits. Salary is commensurate with qualifications, level of experience, and includes a path to performance- based incentives and academic promotion.  In addition, UTMB offers a superior benefits package, an excellent retirement program, and a relocation allowance, if needed.
