Pediatric Radiologist, Faculty Opportunity - The Department of Radiology seeks a full time Assistant Professor of Pediatric Radiology to join our Diagnostic Radiology Section. Applicants should have excellent clinical and interpersonal skills, interest in teaching medical students and residents, and an enthusiasm for academic radiology. As our current Pediatric Radiology section director, has moved to an emeritus position, our new faculty will have the opportunity to develop their own practice and unique clinical expertise. The pediatric imaging volume is robust and continued growth is anticipated, making this position a unique opportunity to build a career and put a personal stamp on our pediatric section.

University of Texas Medical Branch (UTMB)– South Houston to Galveston, Texas

UTMB was established in 1891 as the first academic health center in Texas and is a component of the University of Texas System. Today UTMB includes four schools (medicine, nursing, health professions and graduate biomedical sciences), a network of hospitals and clinics that provide a full range of primary and specialized medical care, and numerous research facilities.

 

The Department of Radiology at UTMB – The Radiology Department at UTMB has state-of-the-art facility and equipment located at throughout our system of 5 hospitals/campuses to include our newly renovated 400+ bed hospital on Galveston Island.  A second UTMB hospital located in League City, contains both UTMB and MD Anderson cancer facilities collaborating on cancer screening, diagnosis, and treatment.  UTMB has also recently opened a 200-bed hospital in the Clear Lake area (near NASA Space Center), which provides full Labor and Delivery as well as other Pediatric services. 

 

Pediatric Radiologist, Faculty Opportunity - The Department of Radiology seeks a full time Assistant Professor of Pediatric Radiology to join our Diagnostic Radiology Section.  In response to the recent pandemic, the Radiology Department has restructured imaging interpretation and teaching workflows.  Now, all faculty Radiologists will have PACS stations at home and negotiate with the department the percentage of time spent interpreting in the hospital versus at home.  Faculty Radiologists may also opt for near-100% work at home, if the faculty member has an active state of Texas Medical license.  In addition, the teaching portion of the position may also be done in-person or remotely, using the Departments online platform.

 

Candidate Requirements:

 

  • M.D., D.O., or equivalent degree.
  • Board Certification/Eligibility by the American Board of Radiology.
  • Fellowship in Pediatric Imaging.
  • The ability to obtain an unrestricted state of Texas Medical License.

 

Income Package:  Salary will be commensurate with qualifications, level of experience, and includes a path to performance- based incentives.  In addition, UTMB offers a superior benefits package, an excellent retirement program, and a relocation allowance, if needed.
