Varex Imaging has announced that it will showcase new x-ray tubes, digital detectors, connect and control devices, and software at the virtual RSNA 2020 meeting on November 29 to December 5.

Among the new products to be highlighted at the meeting is the NT2418C 25-emitter tube prototype. Varex developed the nanotube prototype in coordination with German-based VEC Imaging for use in static breast tomosynthesis and other emitter configurations. Nanotube technology is designed to replace coiled filament in traditional x-ray tube configurations, the company noted.

Varex will also debut its first two liquid metal bearing (LMB) technology for its x-ray tube portfolio -- the GS-547XX-L dual-ended CT application tube and the FP-309X-L anode-end-grounded cardiovascular applications tube. The company will offer lease options for both new LMB products.

In addition, the company will feature new counting technology from its Direct Conversion subsidiary. This includes the multiline XC-Hydra detector for scanning applications and the segmented XC-THOR.CT for CT systems.

Varex will also feature its existing x-ray product portfolio at its virtual RSNA booth, which will integrate 3D product models and videos. In addition, the company will host webinars at RSNA 2020 on lung cancer screening, liver donor transplantation and surgery, and more.
