Merit Medical closes BD deal

Disposable products developer Merit Medical Systems has completed its $100 million acquisition of Becton, Dickinson and Co. (BD) assets which that company divested in connection with its own purchase of interventional device developer C.R. Bard.

Merit has acquired soft-tissue core-needle biopsy products, including the Achieve programmable automatic biopsy system, the Temno biopsy system, Tru-Cut biopsy needles, Aspira pleural effusion drainage kits, and Aspira peritoneal drainage system, the company said.
