Philips gets FDA nod for dual x-ray-fluoroscopy machine

Royal Philips, the parent company of Philips Healthcare, has received 510(k) clearance from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) to market its new digital radiography and fluoroscopy (DRF) machine.

ProxiDiagnost N90 allows users to perform both digital x-ray and fluoroscopy while standing next to the patient. The machine includes several features:

Flat-panel detector technology
New image processing software
Philips' Eleva user interface
Philips' grid-controlled fluoroscopy
