NH passes DBT insurance bill

Gov. Chris Sununu of New Hampshire has signed a bill that requires insurers to cover digital breast tomosynthesis (DBT), the American College of Radiology (ACR) reported.

SB 189 amends the state's legal definition of low-dose mammography to include DBT. It will go into effect on August 7.

New Hampshire is the 15th state to pass mandatory DBT coverage laws, joining Arkansas, Connecticut, Illinois, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maryland, Missouri, New Jersey, New York, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, Texas, Vermont, and the state of Washington, the ACR said.
