Ultrasound developer Fujifilm Sonosite and the Chest Foundation have jointly created a grant program to support research into the role of point-of-care ultrasound for patients with COVID-19 in the intensive care unit (ICU).
Fujifilm Sonosite said it would contribute up to two grants of $30,000 in support of the Chest Foundation Research Grant in Ultrasonography and COVID-19. It will also donate its recently launched Sonosite Px ultrasound systems to the selected research award sites, according to the vendor.
Proposals will be accepted for the program from interested chest medicine professionals and members in the U.S. until October 30. Grant winners will be announced on December 1, and research findings are expected to be available by December 2021. More information on the program can be found on the Chest Foundation's website.
