Ultrasound developer Fujifilm SonoSite has appointed a new CEO and a new chief operating officer (COO).
Fujifilm veteran Takaaki Ueda has became chairman and CEO, while also continuing on as president and CEO of Fujifilm Medical Systems USA and Fujifilm New Development USA. The appointment will promote collaboration and synergies among all of Fujifilm's groups and business units, according to the vendor.
In addition, Fujifilm SonoSite has elevated Rich Fabian to president and COO. Fabian, who joined the company in January 2017, will oversee day-to-day operations and work closely with Ueda to drive business growth, the firm said. He previously held various executive leadership roles during a 15-year stint at Philips Healthcare.
The leadership appointments stem from Masayuki Higuchi's return to Tokyo as deputy general manager of global finance and accounting at Fujifilm, the company said.
