Esaote prepares new ultrasound systems for RSNA 2016

Ultrasound vendor Esaote is bringing a new flagship ultrasound system and the latest iteration of its MyLab Six ultrasound platform to next week's RSNA meeting in Chicago.

Taking over as Esaote's new flagship system, MyLab Eight features the company's new eMPowered engine, which optimizes high-density single-crystal transducers to enable images to be captured deeper in the body, according to the vendor. The system also includes Esaote's new WideView visualization technology to enhance spatial and contrast resolution. Other key capabilities on MyLab Eight include high-frequency imaging, hemodynamic evaluation tools, and a complete portfolio of probes to support the system's use in radiology, cardiovascular, obstetrics and gynecology, and interventional and surgery applications, Esaote said.

Esaote is also highlighting the system's ergonomic features, such as its appleprobe transducers and MyLabRemote, a mobile app that enables users to control MyLab Eight via the touchscreen on a smartphone or tablet. The vendor said it has also incorporated advanced capabilities such as its QElaXto shear-wave quantitative elastography, Virtual Navigator real-time fusion imaging, radiofrequency-based quality intima-media thickness (QIMT), quality arterial stiffness (QAS) quantification, and CnTI contrast-enhanced ultrasound software.

In other RSNA 2016 introductions, Esaote will present MyLab Six CrystaLine, a multiuse cart-based system designed to support diagnostic applications such as general imaging, musculoskeletal imaging, rheumatology, women's health, and cardiovascular imaging. The latest edition of Esaote's multiuse MyLab Six platform, MyLab Six CrystaLine offers improvements in image formation and processing technologies as well as design and workflow capabilities, according to the vendor.

Other features include Esaote's AutoAdjust for adjusting image and Doppler parameters; SmarTouch for accessing multiple settings and adjustments in real-time; protocols with predefined actions to decrease the number of keystrokes needed for common applications; and eTouch task recorder for assisting users in recalling complex sequences of buttons and controls with a simple touchscreen activation, Esaote said.
