Analogic updates SonixHub software

Medical imaging firm Analogic is showcasing a new generation of its SonixHub software at the American College of Emergency Physicians (ACEP) 2013 conference being held this week in Seattle.

SonixHub collects, stores, grades, and reports on exams performed by emergency medicine physicians on any DICOM-compliant ultrasound system. The software is designed to meet ACEP's standards, Analogic said.

When combined with the Ultrasonix SonixTouch or SonixTablet ultrasound systems, the software enhances digital workflow, providing secure backup and eliminating the need for paper records and thermal prints of exam images, the firm added.

When using wired or wireless networks to transfer exam images from any DICOM-compliant ultrasound system, SonixHub supports HIPAA compliance by eliminating the need to use portable media such as USB sticks, CDs, and DVDs to transport patient data. Clinicians can review images from any terminal within a facility's firewall via secure permission-based access, according to Analogic.
