Samsung launches tablet US scanner

Samsung Electronics America has launched its first tablet-based ultrasound scanner, UGEO PT60A.

UGEO PT60A received 510(k) clearance in August and completed its U.S. product review in September in time for the October launch at this week's American Society of Anesthesiologists (ASA) meeting in San Francisco.

It features a full 10.1-inch LED touchscreen monitor, Needle Mate for identification of needle location, Samsung's SDMR technique for noise reduction, and its Spatial Compounding Image (SCI) technology for spatial and contrast resolution.
