Royal Philips subsidiary Philips Healthcare has announced that it will collaborate with the American Telemedicine Association (ATA) to support further adoption of telehealth in healthcare.

The COVID-19 pandemic has increased the use of telehealth from 11% in 2019 to 46% today, Philips said. The company has been working to develop and implement telehealth resources to cope with the crisis; in May, it received clearance from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) for its Biosensor BX100, a wireless, wearable device that helps clinicians manage patients with confirmed or suspected COVID-19 in the hospital.

Philips expects its partnership with the ATA to help it further grow its telehealth offerings, which currently include eCare Manager, Intellispace Corsium, and eCare Coordinator, it said.
