M*Modal nets $70M in financing

Speech recognition technology developer M*Modal has secured $70 million in financing, which it plans to use for further technological research.

The company's speech recognition software is incorporated into more than 150 electronic health record (EHR) platforms, including Allscripts, AthenaHealth, Cerner, eClinicalWorks, Epic, and Meditech, it said.
