Viztek launches Exa PACS upgrades at HIMSS 2015

Informatics and digital radiography firm Viztek is unveiling its latest upgrades to Exa PACS this week at the Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society (HIMSS) 2015 annual meeting in Chicago.

The enhancements include server-side rendering to improve image download time, particularly for mammography, PET/CT, 3D, and other large image files in multisite or distributed environments, Viztek said.

Also, with zero-footprint diagnostic-quality viewing, no plug-ins are required and full functionality is available regardless of the operating system or age of the computer, the firm added.

Exa PACS can be used with any device, and the Web-based system supports all study types and includes a smartphone app, so that when radiologists open a study, the patient's record is ready to receive voice recognition or dictation.
