Computer software and artificial intelligence (AI) company RSIP Vision has released a new software module for assessing chondral lesions on MRI exams.

The software segments joint cartilage from MRI scans of the hips, knees, and ankles, providing location and geometry measurements of osteochondral lesions, according to RSIP Vision.

Chondral lesions often occur in young and active people and can be difficult to heal, affecting the ability of athletes to participate in sports. MRI is used to determine if cartilage transfer is a viable treatment option, the company said.
