Ziehm, Medtronic unveil interface

C-arm developer Ziehm Imaging and interventional technology firm Medtronic have released an interface to provide image-guided 3D navigation capability.

Via the NaviPort interface, Ziehm's Vision FD Vario 3D now connects to Medtronic's StealthStation navigation system to provide distortion-free 3D images during an operation, according to Ziehm of Nuremberg, Germany, and Medtronic of Minneapolis.

The companies believe the jointly developed interface is ideal for use in traumatology and spinal surgery.
