Telix and BAMF Health are reporting the first use for prostate cancer imaging of the Illuccix radiopharmaceutical with the uExplorer total-body PET scanner from United Imaging.

uExplorer is a PET system capable of capturing images of the entire human body in a single bed position, allowing physicians to perform a total-body PET scan in less than 10 minutes. A uExplorer scanner was installed at BAMF Health in Grand Rapids, MI, earlier this year.

Nine men with prostate cancer have undergone PET imaging with uExplorer and Illuccix at BAMF Health. Telix launched Illuccix for prostate cancer imaging in April in the U.S.

Illuccix is a radiopharmaceutical designed to detect prostate-specific antigen (PSA)-positive lesions in men with prostate cancer, as well as in patients with suspected metastasis who are candidates for initial definitive therapy and patients with suspected recurrence based on elevated serum PSA level.
