The American College of Radiology (ACR) has created the ACR Commission on Patient Experience to help radiology professionals promote patient- and family-centered care.
Chaired by Dr. James Rawson of Augusta, GA, the commission is also intended to enhance relationships with patient advocacy groups.
The commission's goals are as follows:
- Develop recommendations on how radiology practices can improve the experiences of patients and their families
- Provide information on how to measure radiology patient outcomes
- Work with other ACR commissions to develop tools, metrics, and policy to help members meet merit-based incentive payment system and alternative payment model requirements
- Work closely with the RSNA Radiology Cares campaign
