Teleradiology services provider Nines has garnered U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) 510(k) clearance for NinesMeasure, a semiautomatic artificial intelligence (AI)-based application for measuring lung nodules on chest CT exams.

Radiologists can utilize NinesMeasure to measure the long and short axes of selected nodules, according to the company. It can also help to address interstudy consistency over the course of a patient's treatment program, Nines said.

The FDA clearance is the second for Nines. The firm received FDA clearance in April 2020 for NinesAI, a computer-assisted triage application for automated review of head CT studies for intracranial hemorrhage and mass effect.
