NEMA releases updated CT Dose Check standard

The National Electrical Manufacturers Association (NEMA) has released an updated version of its CT Dose Check standard for CT scanners.

"NEMA XR 25-2019 Computed Tomography Dose Check" details an equipment feature for CT scanners to produce dose-related alert messages before scanning if the estimated dose would exceed preset levels, the association said. The revision adds a modification to the "dose alert" feature, enabling it to be triggered only once for protocols deemed interventional by the user or manufacturer.
