Toshiba debuts new version of Aquilion Prime CT

Toshiba America Medical Systems has unveiled a new version of its Aquilion Prime CT scanner.

The new version of Aquilion Prime is scalable; users can upgrade their system from 40 to 80 to 160 slices without replacing hardware. The system also has a smaller footprint and a larger bore, at 78 cm.

Finally, the system comes standard with Toshiba's advanced iterative dose reduction (AIDR) 3D technology, as well as a high-capacity couch (660 lb) that can move laterally and is low to the ground. It also features an image reconstruction speed of up to 60 images per second.
