IBM launches Imaging Patient Synopsis

IBM Watson Health said that its longtime PACS customer Hardin Memorial Health of Elizabethtown, KY, has become the first institution to adopt its Imaging Patient Synopsis artificial intelligence (AI) software.

Trained to recognize and extract clinically relevant patient information in the electronic health record, Patient Synopsis presents its findings to radiologists in a single-page summary that's organized into 12 categories, according to the vendor. Hardin Memorial Health has used IBM's Merge Unity PACS for more than 15 years, the company said.
