Aidoc lands FDA clearance for AI software in head CT

Israeli artificial intelligence (AI) software developer Aidoc has received U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) clearance for workflow triage software designed to identify acute intracranial hemorrhage (ICH) on head CT exams.

The deep learning-based software analyzes head CT exams right after the patient is scanned and then notifies the radiologist of cases with suspected findings of ICH. This helps prioritize time-sensitive and potentially life-threatening cases, according to the vendor.

The brain package is the first product of Aidoc's planned suite of AI-based workflow optimization software, the company said.
